We are seeking a CNC Machinist/ Setup Operator for one of our clients located in Montreal. The role involves supporting setup preparations on machining tools and ensuring optimal control over all stages of production operations, following established procedures and work instructions. This is a permanent, full-time position over a 3-day workweek.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with colleagues, the setup technician, and immediate supervisor to evaluate and resolve issues during setups and production ;
• Ensures tooling is compliant with programming and work orders ;
• Conducts daily and preventive maintenance on machining tools ;
• Documents all programming changes and notifies the programmer of any anomalies ;
• Guarantees proper setup functionality ;
• Provides incident reports for all tool replacements ;
• Ensures operators are proficient in their tasks before granting them autonomy and operates the machining tool if necessary ;
• Acts as a certified operator ;
• Ensures accurate reading and understanding of plans ;
• Upholds factory regulations and health and safety standards ;
• Performs other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Diploma in Machining (DEP) or equivalent ;
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in machining (CNC turning) ;
• Strong knowledge of programming languages ;
• Proficient in French ;
• Knowledge of Esprit software (an asset).

Conditions

• Work modality: On-site ;
• Position type: Permanent, full-time ;
• Schedule: Friday to Sunday, 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (36 hours/week) ;
• Salary range: $23.50 to $28.25 (based on experience).
