Our client, a leader in the hollow metal door and frame industry is looking to fill a machinist position in Montreal. This is a permanent, full-time position. The company takes pride in emphasizing quality, reliability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Experience in a manufacturing environment ;
• Knowledge of metal doors and frames ;
• Ability to operate, maintain, adjust and repair machinery and tools used for metalworking, including CNC ;
• Proficiency in reading and understanding plans and specifications ;
• Familiarity with milling, drilling, grinding, and sanding ;
• Proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery to cut, shape, and assemble metal doors and frames according to specifications;
• Ensure proper reading and understanding of the plans and technical drawings;
• Use various tools and machines such as drills, saws, CNC machines, and welding equipment;
• Perform daily and preventive maintenance on machine tools;
• Repair faulty equipment and troubleshoot production issues as needed;
• Guarantee the proper functioning of the setup process;
• Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring they meet industry standards and specifications, and make adjustments if needed;
• Ensure compliance with factory regulations and occupational health and safety standards;
• Provide an incident report for all tool replacements;
• Collaborate with other machinists, fabricators, and production staff to ensure timely and efficient production;
• Perform any other related tasks.
