We are looking for an experienced Post-Disaster Project Manager with a strong professional network in the field. The position holder will be responsible for managing and coordinating post-disaster interventions, ensuring the speed and quality of restoration work while maintaining positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and insurers. Various large-scale projects are located in Montreal and on the South Shore.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage the entire cycle of post-disaster projects (fires, water damage, major disasters), from damage assessment to closing the files;
- Determine the necessary work, such as demolition, reconstruction, cleaning, disinfection, etc.;
- Specify the skills and equipment required for each type of subcontractor (electricians, plumbers, carpenters, etc.);
- Utilize your own network of qualified and reliable subcontractors to quickly mobilize teams;
- Solicit and compare detailed quotes from several subcontractors for each type of task;
- Ensure that quotes include precise timelines and clear contractual conditions and analyze the value for money;
- Analyze and negotiate rates with subcontractors based on the duration and volume of the project, while planning a margin for contingencies or necessary adjustments during the project;
- Implement a real-time expense tracking system to avoid budget overruns;
- Coordinate and supervise teams on the ground, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met;
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, insurers, and other stakeholders;
- Ensure rigorous tracking of costs, schedules, and regulatory requirements throughout the project;
- Prepare detailed progress reports and submit them to clients and insurers;
- Perform any other related tasks.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the post-disaster restoration field;
- Experience with asbestos;
- Strong network of contacts in the construction, subcontractor, and supplier sectors;
- In-depth knowledge of safety standards, building codes, and disaster-related regulations;
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills;
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment;
- Knowledge of Xactimate software or other project management software, as well as disaster tracking tools;
- Valid driver's license;
- Knowledge of Symbility software (an asset);
- IICRC certification or equivalent (an asset).

Conditions
- Work modality: On-site, frequent travel;
- Type of position: Permanent, full-time;
- Schedule: Monday to Friday;
- Salary range: $80,000 to $100,000 (depending on experience), with 2 to 5% commission (based on performance).
